SOLO is someone you text about where to eat. To do that well it has to remember things about you. This page says what it keeps, why, and how to make it forget.
What SOLO keeps
- Your phone number and, if you share it, your first name.
- Your conversation with SOLO, and what you tell it: places you've been or want to try, what you liked, your taste, dietary needs, neighborhoods, your city and trips, how often you want to hear from it, and reminders you ask for.
- If you used the SOLO app, the profile you created there (name, taste, check-ins), which SOLO uses to welcome you back.
- If you request access on this site: your name, number, and the places you list.
How it's used
- To recommend places, remember what you like, send the reminders and check-ins you ask for, and now and then text you first, if you said yes to that.
- When you claim a seat a restaurant has offered, or ask SOLO to let a restaurant know you're hoping for a table, that restaurant gets your first name, your party size and time, and how many times you've been there. Never your phone number.
- SOLO doesn't sell your information, and doesn't share it for advertising.
Who helps run SOLO
Your information is stored with Google Firebase. Messages are delivered through Sendblue. SOLO's replies are written with AI from Anthropic (Claude), and venue search uses Google's Gemini. These services process your messages only to run SOLO.
Texting SOLO
- SOLO is invitation only and free during the pilot. You text it; it replies. If you opt in, it may text you first, about once every two weeks by default, a little more when something timely fits you (an open seat, an event, a trip you told it about).
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time and SOLO stops texting you, immediately. Reply START to come back. Reply HELP for help.
- Picks are suggestions. SOLO doesn't book tables or guarantee availability, prices, hours or menus; check with the restaurant.
- You must be 18 or older to use SOLO.
Forgetting you
Email hello@withsolo.com from anywhere, or tell us the number, and we'll delete your profile and conversation. Replying STOP stops all texts but keeps your profile in case you come back; ask if you'd rather it be gone.
